We make our own Maple Syrup at the Chateau,
The weather must have temps above freezing during the day and below 32 at night.
This happens here in midMarch.
We tap the Tree then boil the sap
We gather about 5 or Gal then boil and strain that and get an end result of about a Pint.
This pint is guarded like Gold.
More time consuming the hard work, still the Syrup is highly prized.
This year we may tap another Tree so we can store some in the bomb room (Pantry)
It’s not hard to do and does teach the kids/grandkids to value Nature and we we can get from her.
